Tadaaa! It’s a Kit Kat Jar. Not exactly a kit kat flavor but still worth posting about.
As you know, vending machines are one of the things that makes Japan, well, Japan. You can get everything from them (yes, I do mean everything). From drinks, food, cigars and up to something as bizarre as dirty girl’s underwear (yes look it up).
So here, they found a way to dispense kit kat from a vending machine for all to eat: The Kit Kat Jar
Contains 4 individually wrapped kit kat. No need to go to the convenience store or grocery or wherever when you need to. Just go to the nearest vending machine (and… hopefully it has one). I’ve seen one, and I really thought it was a kit kat drink. ^^
Bad news though is it just comes in its original flavor. Still, given the option is good enough.

Yes you read that right! Salt flavored white chocolate. As it says in the box, this one is made with rock salt from Lorraine, France. Lorraine is apparently known for its inland salt spring and salt mining.
So… well you got me. This is one of the flavors I haven’t tasted yet but considering how a success soy sauce flavor was I guess they can probably make this one a success too. Although I still don’t know what’s so special about Lorraine salt. I’ve read somewhere that it’s salty but not too salty. Hmmm must be like the soy sauce one then.

A guest post by my dear friend Meimei. She’s an artistic friend who thinks she’s stuck in the logical world of computers. LOL! She’s into photography and is currently single, kidding!
Master Kitkat Blogger is on a little break so I’m taking her floor temporarily. LOL. I’ll be introducing you to this unique Kitkat flavor only available in Japan.
I don’t have a sweet tooth. And I detest sweetness that can get all the way to my throat. Knowing Kitkat bars to have that effect on me, I was hesitant to taste the other kitkats out there, worried that I’ll have the same painful I experience with the overly sweet original Kitkat, well at least for my taste though. However, curiousity brought me to challenge myself having seen my friend’s addition over them.
Sorry for the lengthy intro and so I’ll now taking you to the real part. Let me introduce you to Kitkat’s cookie plus whole wheat, a better term maybe oatmeal cookie perhaps?
At first try, you’ll notice a tinge of bitterness which is probably brought by the whole grain infused within the chocolate wafer. You’ll also feel a litle of that wheat on every bite, minute only though. What was surprising too was, unlike the normal kitkat, that the bar isn’t too sweet, just enough for someone like me who doesn’t have a sweet tooth. The site even that it’s a healthy bar, with all the mineral, protein, and vitamins you need for a healthy snack. My final verdict, I can say that this is well made Kitkat variation. This can come smaller boxes of 2 bars and big boxes of 8 bars (the one in the picture is the 2 bar box).
Okay fine. So it’s not a Kit Kat flavor. It’s a Kit Kat ummm… product anyway.
They’re two of these actually. Chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream. Both are coated in chocolate, topped with peanuts and wrapped inside a chocolate-tipped wafer cone.
Sounds ordinary right? Well the surprise comes when you take a bite off the top of the ice cream. A stick of kit kat is sludge there like a spine in the human skeletal system. LOL!
It’s good actually. The chocolate one’s a bit too chocolatey but if you like it that way then it’s all good.

Took me awhile to realize that 口どけ was not actually ro-do-ke but guchi-do-ke. Argh! Good thing I’m not all good with Japanese (if that is a good thing) and tried if do-ke means dark (yeah right). Well as long as I got it in the end.
It’s a shame I didn’t get to taste this one last year. Given the reviews I’ve read on this, it is oh so so so so good and true to its name. The chocolate actually melts and runs into your mouth. It’s so good that almost each Japanese review I read mentioned their calorie count, how this kit kat’s a danger to their calorie watching (they’re health nuts, the bunch of them). It has a bitter taste which explains why it is referred as cacao (beans) rather than chocolate.
I actually found out that I can still order this kit kat from the rakuten shop (online shopping database). Hmmm… (I passed. I wouldn’t want to buy something with a delivery fee bigger than the actually product cost. LOL!)

A bit of a break from the exotic flavors.
What should be a regular flavor in chocolate is not exactly a regular flavor in the Breaktown world. Well, not in Japan.
White kit kat comes in and out like tides during seasons here in Japan. This one appears probably as frequently as the strawberry flavored ones. And like the strawberry ones, it comes in different designs.
Is the white kit kat a regular flavor in your country?

Yes, there are normal Kit Kat’s in Japan as well. LOL! Taking a break from the weird stuff, and reminding people why we all love Kit Kat.

Kit Kat with a layer of cookie with the wafer inside. It was good actually. Kinda like the normal Kit Kat but crunchier with a darker taste of Oreo cookies.
This one came out fall of 2008. I hope this bring this one out more often.

To start off with this bizarre blog of bizarre kit kat, I give you one that baffled me to my brain’s core.
Yup that’s a salt and caramel kit kat. I’m still trying to figure this one out ‘coz I haven’t tasted it. I heard about the Salt Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks which is actually good, so maybe I should take this one with a grain of.. uhh.. salt.
